Dr. Jennifer Lish is a licensed clinical psychologist with over 30 years of experience. She is the Director of the Worcester Center for Cognitive Behavior Therapy.

Short term, evidence-based therapy
Dr. Lish has special expertise in the treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder using exposure and response prevention, the treatment of phobias with graded exposure, and the treatment of oppositional-defiant behavior using parent behavior management.
As part of therapy, Dr. Lish will take you out of the office for your therapy session, accompanying you to your home, school, or community as needed.

Using a combination of the evidence-based treatments that best fit your child’s needs and goals in therapy, Dr. Lish will work with your child to function better and achieve goals that are appropriate for their age and situation.
When Dr. Lish treats selective mutism, she often accompanies the child to children’s museums and playgrounds and visits their school and daycare in order to assist them in becoming able to socialize and speak normally in the community.
Dr. Lish attended Philips Exeter Academy, Brown University (B.A.), New York University (Ph.D.), and Columbia University (post-doctoral fellowship). She has been a Research Assistant Professor of Psychology in Psychiatry at Columbia University, University of Pennsylvania and Medical College of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Lish has worked on research programs on depression and anxiety disorders, given presentations at many professional conferences, and published 30 articles and books.
Dr. Lish has been certified as a cognitive-behavior therapist by the Academy of Cognitive Therapy. She is listed as a therapist by the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies, Anxiety and Depression Association of America, Selective Mutism Group, Child Anxiety Network, and International Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder Foundation.
She has been trained at Behavior Therapy Institutes conducted by the International Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder Foundation, the Tourette Syndrome Association and the Selective Mutism Group. Dr. Lish is on the Board of Directors of the Massachusetts Psychological Association, and she has served on various committees and task forces in these organizations.
Dr. Lish lives in the Worcester, MA area with her two teenage daughters. She is an avid runner, hiker, cyclist, kayaker, contra dancer, singer and nature enthusiast. She also enjoys museums, theater, and music. She coordinates her congregation’s work on sheltering and feeding homeless families
